The Red House

Historical residence on the river
Services provided: Design build, general Contracting, and energy analysis
Project scope: 1871 historical building in downtown Truckee, CA on the river. Full renovation, remodel, and addition including solar PV, solar thermal, heat pump, radiant floors and high efficiency instantaneous water heating.

Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation

Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation connects people and opportunities, generating resources to build a more caring, creative, and effective community
Services provided: Energy analysis and general contracting
Project scope: Energy survey including a blower door (envelope leakage) test, duct leakage test and infrared scan of the building prior to work. General contracting work included air sealing, duct sealing, and insulation.

Bender Engineering + Commissioning projects:

Martis Camp

Luxury sustainable resort community dedicated to building green
Services provided: LEED documentation, full (fundamental and enhanced) commissioning
Project scope: Seven buildings, totaling more than 100,000 square feet, including Comfort Station; Lost Library, Maintenance building, Gatehouse, Starter Pavilion, Family Barn and Camp Lodge

Washoe County Detention Facility

90,000 square foot detention facility of three cell blocks, along with a high-security block; all separately served by the heat recovery units
Services provided: Construction phase commissioning services
Project scope: Installation verification and functional performance tests all the domestic hot water, HVAC and smoke control systems, and final hard and electronic copies of the commissioning manual

The Northstar at Tahoe Village Walk

Village Walk combines the seclusion of a true Lake Tahoe home with the exhilaration of The Village at Northstar's™ entertainment and activities
Services provided: LEED™ for Homes representation, rating and Energy Star rating
Project scope: Twelve-unit, six-building project totaling approximately 36,000 square feet

Squaw Valley Public Service District

The Squaw Valley Public Service District building is a 26,000-square-foot facility, built in the heart of Squaw Valley
Services provided: Implementation of energy reduction retrofits
Project scope: Oversight of the installation of variable speed pumps. Several additional projects are on the schedule including as-built diagrams of the boiler room and possible re-piping; CO2 ventilation control; and re-configuration of the outside air intake louver

The Village at Squaw Valley

The Village at Squaw Valley is the ultimate four-season mountain resort nestled slopeside to Squaw Valley USA
Services provided: Energy audit (retro-commissioning)
Project scope: The 22-Station and First Ascent Home Owners within The Village at Squaw Valley sought to reduce their energy use and bills through BECx’s Energy Audit. The project continues with the implementation of found energy conservation measures and corrections of operating issues resulting in savings of up to $100,000 per year. Measures include replacement of the boiler burners (7,000,000 btus), installation of variable speed pumps, lighting retrofit, etc

Tahoe National Forest Truckee Ranger District Office

First phase of the 70-acre site northeast of Truckee, Calif.
Services provided: LEED™ Commissioning services (fundamental and enhanced)
Project scope: 10,000-square-foot project with systems, including domestic hot water, underfloor air distribution (UFAD), boilers and evaporative cooling. Full development of the site will include space for the fire district, Town of Truckee and other governmental uses

South Rock Garage

5,000-square-foot auto shop and apartment is in Sparks, Nev.
Services provided: Mechanical plumbing design and electrical drafting services

Timberstone Construction

Timberstone has been a steady client with BECx for several projects
Services provided: Mechanical and plumbing design, Energy Star ratings, and Build it Green's Green Point Rating
Project scope: Projects include the Northstar Lodge, a modular built home from Details in Sacramento, Calif., which will be a Green Point Rated and Energy Star home

High-end multi-family complex
Services provided: Mechanical and plumbing design, electrical drafting services, Energy Star certification consulting
Project scope: Five-unit development seeking Energy Star certification for the individual units to ensure compliance with difficult thermal bypass inspection

Project scope: Martis Camp's Lot #W122 for Build it Green's Green Point Rated program and Energy Star. Also working on Martis Camp's Lot #217 for LEED™ for Homes and Energy Star and a Tahoe Donner home for Energy Star ratings
